Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) developed in the Khavinson Russian gerontology programme. It is the only synthetic peptide with published human clinical evidence for telomerase activation, telomere lengthening in somatic cells, and restoration of melatonin and circadian rhythm in older adults — with long-term follow-up data spanning 12+ years. Researched outcomes include normalised pineal function, improved sleep architecture, reduced markers of cellular senescence, and lower all-cause mortality in elderly cohorts when run as cyclical 10–20 day courses, 2–3× per year. Not a continuous-use compound — the cyclical pattern is what the Khavinson human data validates. Most users stack it within a broader anti-ageing protocol alongside GHK-Cu and Thymalin.
Dosage
Start 5mg once daily; after 1 week increase to 10mg daily (Russian protocol range 5–10mg/day, 10–20 day cycles)
Duration of effect
Effects build over a course; benefits persist weeks after (plasma half-life: ~4-6 hours)

In human somatic cells in vitro, Epithalon induced telomerase activity and elongated telomeres — the foundational mechanistic study cited across the pineal-peptide literature.

Superpower's medically reviewed Epitalon (Epithalon) guide reviews proposed melatonin, telomerase and longevity effects. It describes limited human evidence from the older Russian research programme, with telomerase findings mainly from laboratory studies and no independent large modern trial establishing a longevity benefit. This is an evidence review, not a new clinical trial or product test.

This narrative review of Epitalon (Epithalon) describes independent 2025 replication of telomerase activation and telomere elongation in human cell lines, alongside earlier mechanistic and human reports. It distinguishes synthetic Epitalon from the chemically different pineal extract Epithalamin, whose historical longevity findings cannot be treated as Epitalon results. Human efficacy and long-term safety remain unestablished. This is a non-peer-reviewed preprint review, not a new clinical trial.

Khavinson's human and cell work showed Epithalon activates telomerase, elongates telomeres in somatic cells, and restores melatonin secretion and circadian rhythm in older adults.

Cyclical 10–20 day courses of Epithalon with Thymalin, repeated 2–3 times per year, were followed for over a decade in elderly cohorts — with sustained improvements in immune and pineal function and lower all-cause mortality.
