Thymosin alpha-1 is a 28-amino-acid peptide originally isolated from the thymus, where it directs the maturation and activity of T-cells — the immune system's targeted-response arm. It is one of the most clinically established peptides in existence: the branded medicine Zadaxin (thymalfasin) is approved in over 30 countries for chronic hepatitis B and C and as a vaccine-response enhancer in immunocompromised patients; these approvals do not apply to VCP research products. Its mechanism is immune modulation rather than stimulation — it restores balance to a dysregulated immune response rather than simply turning it up. Published human trials cover chronic viral hepatitis, sepsis (where a randomized controlled trial showed reduced 28-day mortality), vaccine adjuvancy in the elderly, and immune reconstitution in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Most commonly run as twice-weekly subcutaneous courses. Pairs naturally with Thymalin — the thymic-extract peptide from the Khavinson programme — for a comprehensive thymic-immune protocol. 10mg vial.
Dosage
1.6mg subcutaneously twice weekly (standard thymalfasin protocol); courses of 4–12 weeks studied
Duration of effect
Short plasma half-life (~2 hours); immune effects persist across the dosing interval

Clinical Research
In the ETASS multicenter randomized controlled trial of 361 patients with severe sepsis, thymosin alpha-1 significantly reduced 28-day mortality compared with control — rare large-scale RCT evidence for any peptide in critical care.
